Built six monasteries and converted his family home into the seventh monastery

Processed through Rome with the Icon of Salus Populi Romani "Protectress of the Roman People" (click icon on right)

After receiving a vision of St. Michael sheathing his sword on top of Emperor Hadrians Mausoleum (which the Pope took as a sign that the plague has ended) Pope Gregory erected a statue in honor of St. Michael the Archangel which is still there to this day !

Patron saint of music and the Gregorian Chants are named after him
